Max Chaiken has been writing music for several years, and he incorporates original music at the URJ Camp Harlam as well as at synagogues and youth groups around the country. Most notably, he has written such camp hits as Sh’ma Koleinu, Ken Y’hi Ratzon and Eliyahu Hanavi. Max believes that we can grow as individuals and as a community by singing together, regardless of what it is that we are singing. Accordingly, he strives to write music that is not only fun to sing, but that can be a means for Jewish education, activism and social justice.
On a more personal note, Max would like to thank the participants and faculty of Hava Nashira for responding so kindly and generously to Eliyahu Hanavi. The A minor version is available online. If you are interested in the chords in E minor, please let me know.
